Marketing and Advertising

·        Marketing: The systematic planning, implementation and control of a mix of business activities intended to bring together buyers and sellers for the mutually advantageous exchange or transfer of products.


·        Marketing is the process by which companies create customer interest in products or services. It generates the strategy that underlies sales techniques, business communication, and business development. It is an integrated process through which companies build strong customer relationships and create value for their customers and for themselves.


·        Marketing is defined as the activity, set of institutions, and processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners, and society at large.


·        Marketing is defined as the management process responsible for identifying, anticipating and satisfying customer requirements profitably.


·        Marketing is defined as "the management process that seeks to maximize returns to shareholders by developing relationships with valued customers and creating a competitive advantage.


·        Marketing is a process that takes time and can involve hours of research for a marketing plan to be effective. 



·        Advertising: The paid, public, non-personal announcement of a persuasive message by an identified sponsor; the non-personal presentation or promotion by a firm of its products to its existing and potential customers.


·        Advertising is a form of communication intended to persuade an audience to purchase or take some action upon products, ideals, or services. It includes the name of a product or service and how that product or service could benefit the consumer, to persuade a target market to purchase or to consume that particular brand.


·        Advertising is a single component of the marketing process.


·        Advertising is the promotion of a product or service.


·        Medium of advertising:

·        Any medium can be used for advertising. Commercial advertising media can include wall paintings, billboards, street furniture components, printed flyers and rack cards, radio, cinema, television, web banners, mobile telephones, shopping carts, web pop-ups, skywriting, bus stop benches, human billboards, magazines, newspapers, town criers,  vehicles, transports, seatback, tray tables, storage bins, musical stage shows, subway platforms, tickets, receipts and so on.
